Day 4 - Be Resilient : 21 Days. 21 Virtues for Life .

“I can be changed by what happens to me. But I refuse to be reduced by it.”― Maya Angelou

Some brave-heart stand strong in the storm, and when the winds fail to blow them away, they adjust their sail, navigate slowly to raise their sail and begin. That is what resilience is all about. It is easy to preach about this virtue, yet the people who actually taste this virtue are the real heroes in life as they fear not to bounce back.

There was a little girl hailing from a small town in India. The town was special and so was her upbringing in one of the finest schools. While children would run around and play, her health would no allow her because she was asthmatic. So the best recluse she found was in the school library. She loved reading and enjoyed the world of mythological stories, adventure trips and the scintillating suspense novels. Her flair for expressing her thoughts on paper became evident when her essays scored the maximum marks. A shy girl, she did fear communicating because of reasons natural, yet the world perceived it as her flaw.

Those were the days when there were no student counselors too so no point raising the concern. She was very good in her studies, and in English, she would always give a master stroke score. She loved participating in debates. Her speeches made it to the finals, spoken by someone else, while she sat in the audience silently. She would tell herself, she wished to become a great writer, someday. How, when, why was God's way to find out, as simple. She completed her college and pursued a masters in communication, and her parents were always supportive. They believed in her dream. She had no one to guide her so she chose her way, she dared to break the myths.

Destiny took her to a Metro city to seek her first job. The place, people and the language seemed new but then she did pick up the flavor of the city and tone of communication pretty fast. After attending countless interviews, walking in the scorching sun, skipping her meal at times, traveling in crowded buses, and rejections, she just knew 'never give up'. Her roommates were very supportive and kept her spirits high. She had no mobile phone so following up on interviews was by standing for her turn in the STD booths. It was a test of whether to give up on her dream and take what was easier. Yet the best part was, she could only think of writing and no other way.

Finally, call it a divine intervention, her Almighty heard her prays, she did got the first break in a good ad agency. Tears of joy rolled down her eyes, as she held the first offer letter. She became a 'copywriter'. The small town girl followed her dream, braved her fears and celebrated her wins as the billboards flashed her copy in the skyline of the city.

When we learn how to become RESILIENT, we learn how to best embrace the beautifully broad spectrum of the human experience and emerge victorious in life.

Day 3- Be Grateful: 21 Days. 21 Virtues for Life .

The attitude of Gratitude is regarded as one of the highest virtues and since I am a gratitude practitioner since 7 years and healer, it comes naturally to me. When we are grateful to everything that we are born with, most important our breath, our mind and heart, the people we have in our lives, the food eat, the clothes we wear, the house we stay in, and the list is infinite.

✨Keep a journal to start with and just list the things you are grateful for each day. It takes hardly 10 minutes, once it becomes a habit, you will see the list growing and giving way to a lot of connected virtues.
✨Once you graduate further, you can bucket the grateful list like for say- work life, family, friends, Nature, spirituality, hobbies etc.You can even pen down poems or narrate stories or unleash your artistic style, however you want! Just Start and do it consistently, you will feel the happiness within and eventually see the positive side of life and in people. Gratitude is an elixir of life to align our thoughts and attract the right things in life.

I would like to share a poem from one of my Gratitude collection.

‘I embark on my journey to witness my destiny as it comes by.
I measure the vast distance with my eyes set upon the sky.
When the path is made easy with steps of pause and rest.
I believe it is the Almighty who has designed this path for test.
Whether it be a thousand stony spiral steps or a undefined destination.
The anxiety builds in along with courage to chase the mysterious fascination.
While the Sun plays hide-n-seek , the white fluffy clouds appear in culmination
I believe in my purpose and walk up with a firm determination.
The pauses are important to think, plan and move ahead with direction.
The journey is worth every risk as I head to experience the best life in action.”

I am grateful for my journey in life so far. I believe in the fact that when we visualize to achieve something better than today, while offering sincere gratitude to the present moment, we attract many more happy things in life. 🙏

Day 2- Be Noble : 21 Days. 21 Virtues for Life .

Who is the person you would think of when the quality 'Noble' flashes on your mind?

Simplicity is a virtue and many leaders are known for their noble nature alongside their business success. I have had the opportunity to experience seeing this virtue during my childhood days.

The legacy of Tatas is known worldwide and having lived in a wonderful city of Jamshedpur, definitely added a lot of virtues right from our childhood days. While we talk about noble people, I actually saw and heard volumes about the noble nature of the leaders. Mr. Ratan Tata, as I grew up knowing more about him, it gave a sense of pride to be part of one of the best schools and the best colony set up by them. Those were the times, when the virtues of honour, integrity and graceful demeanor, actually reflected in every individual who worked in the Tatas. It is a noble legacy created by the world's best group of leaders and is prevalent even today.

Noble nature is not defined by money, caste or creed for sure. It is the highest degree of self-respect and the way we treat others - with equal respect and dignity.

I have met many noble individuals in life, so far and what is best about them is their simplicity and the ability to value others, focus on just the positive attributes and help bring out the best in every individual. The principle of being inclusive and working towards respecting the opinions of others, whether in education, business or life, is a precious quality where a noble heart listens and acts mindfully.

'A lifetime spent in radiating grace and simplicity, lived with dignity and respect for others well-being, is a noble gift to nurture peace and harmony. '

Day 1- Be Authentic: 21 Days. 21 Virtues for Life .

The year 2022 just began and seems to be galloping way at immense speed with January all set to bid adieu! So while we sit back to pen down our achievements for the month, in the midst of the havoc and uncertainty around, am sure there would have been some great learning for each one of us.

The beauty of this journey is that we remain curious and learn new ways to express or apply what we have learned or unlearned with a whole new perspective. That is exactly what it brings us back to basic virtues of mankind. You suddenly understand something you’ve understood all your life, and with a broader perception and meaningful purpose.

With high respect to my mindfulness teachers, philosophical authors, magnetic healers and corporate counselors, I shall be sharing my understanding on different virtues as a 21 days practice. I hope it will benefit any reader as much as I write and share the significance with simple tips to master the virtue for a new way of living life.

Day 1:

Are you authentic?

This might be a direct question from us to ourselves. The obvious answer would be, 'It depends'. When being authentic is one of the purest virtues bestowed to every human, It shines the quality of being genuine, truthful and real. When you look at the various hues that it reflects as, it only needs certain cues to work on consistently and with sincerity.

Whether a business or workplace or even personal relationships that people wish to build over the years, the simplicity in thoughts together with clarity in action illuminates the world within you and reflects as a positive aura around you for others to look up to.

The idea is to take a step and walk-the-talk. It also involves taking complete responsibility of one's thoughts, emotions, words and action, by doing the right bravely, anytime and every time. This helps you keep your power and at the same time radiate the highest level of reality with love and respect.

With theories explained as simple points, try it and you will get to know how it feels to be nearly or ideally authentic.

Authenticity makes you a better person, in the journey of your life.
